Quercecchio/Suite Abate
Town: Montalcino
Montalcino is the centre of the Brunella location and is situated
on top of a hill. As a giant rock it arises out of the 14th Century
"La Fortezza" looking out over the city. A walk through the narrow
streets of Montalcino offers again and again a fascinating view
over the beautiful landscape. Montalcino has lots of good restaurants
and bars. It's also very good to do your shopping.
Antica Grancia di Quercecchio
Quercecchio is like a dream location in a beautiful landscape.
Surrounded by olive trees and vineyards this former monastery
is in the middle of the famous Brunella area and 10KM from
Montalcino. Famous towns as: Pienza, Siena, Montepulciano are
in a near and easy distance. Don't forget the less famous towns and
places as: Monastery S'Antonio, one of the most beautiful monasteries
in Tuscany, or the Monte Oliveto Magiore are also very near and worth
a visit. Quercecchio was build in the year 1500 as a Benedictines
Monastery. It became an "Azienda" 300 year later. The Salvioni family
has after many years of working the "Azienda" rebuild it as a complex
with 8 large and luxurious appartments. With a lot of respect and
feeling
for the old elements of the place they turned it into something quite
marvellous. Every appartment has been individually designed and
decorated. The rooms have the names of the monks in remembrance
of the time they lived and worked here.
The pool is 8 x 14 meters and open from May till the end of september.
Interior Suite Abate: This appartment is exclusive and extremely good
for special occasions. Everything in this house is in total harmony.
The house is located on the side where the columns are getting wider
and leads into the hallway. The livingroom has a beautiful dining table
in the middle and on the ceiling right above that table is an amazing
ornament. There is a kitchen, a sitting area for quiet moments and
contemplations. The bedroom has the feeling of a "fairytale". Again a beautiful ornament
on the ceiling with underneath a romantic "Four Poster Bed". All has been
designed with love and in extremely good taste. The tasteful bathroom is in
reach via a small staircase.
Suite Abate: a house for special occasions.
Be aware: All rooms have SAT TV and Airco. In Abate the costs of
those are
10 Euro per day. Bedlinens and towels are inclusive.
