This is a charming old Tuscan farmhouse dating back to the XIII century. It is located on a hillside in an area rich with Medieval castles. The owner himself has recently restored the house in a pleasant country fashion style using the original materials such as terracotta floors and exposed beams so that the house has lost none of its original charm. There are just two apartments at the property, each with private entrance and private outside area furnished with table and chairs for dining out. These apartments on two floors are called “La Pergola” and “Il Gelso” and can be rented for two or four people.
Apt. La Pergola (sleeps 4 pax). The ground floor consists of a spacious living room with fire place and a French door leading to the private garden with table and chairs; a well equipped kitchen (oven, cooker, fridge with freezer) on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with ensuite shower bathroom and one twin bedroom and a shower bathroom.
Apt. Il Gelso (sleeps 4 pax). On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with fire place and a French door that leads to the terrace furnished with table and chairs; a well equipped kitchen (oven, fridge/freezer, cooker) on the ground floor. The first floor has are two double bedrooms furnished with antiques and two shower bathrooms. On the first floor of this apartment there is also a covered loggia with a flight of steps leading to the garden.
Each of the two apartments has exactly the same characteristics and furnishing. In the well tended garden there is the lovely swimming pool (10x5 m – 1.10/1.40 m deep) which is shared by the guests. With attractive views over Montalcino and the surrounding landscape, Podere Corticella is an ideal base for visiting the many delights of Tuscany, including Siena (about 30 km away), Murlo, Montalcino, Pienza ect. The nearest village is Buonconvento 4 km away, where guests can find shops, supermarket, restaurants and bars. The friendly owners live nearby and they will be glad to give you information about the area. Farm products such as honey and olive oil are on sale.
The prices are per apt. per 7 nights (from Saturday to Saturday) and they include water, gas, electricity, linen changed weekly, final cleaning, use of the swimming pool.
Swimming pool: open from the 28th of April till the 29th of September.
To pay on the premises: central heating upon use (4,50 euro per m3); baby cot € 5 per night; extra bed € 15 per night, wood for the fireplace € 10 per box, washing machine 5 euro per load. Pets are not allowed.
