Region Livorno

Livorno is one of the ten provinces of Tuscany, Italy. The capital is the city of Livorno.
The province of Livorno measuring 1107 km ² and has 170,000 inhabitants. The province is next to a narrow, sandy beaches popular with tourists as the coast (max. 20 km wide), most of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, including the largest and most famous island of Elba. The other islands belonging to the province within the archipelago are Capraia, Montecristo, Gorgona and former prison island Pianosa.
The province borders the provinces of Grosseto Livorno and Pisa. The official abbreviation of the province is LI.
Other larger towns in the province of its port and industrial city of Piombino, Cecina, the luxury resort Castiglioncello, Portoferraio on Elba and the industrial town Rosignano. Cecina is also the name of the main river that flows through the province.
